I am of course talking about the Ancient Persians. These were not just pretty-boys who were led to the slaughter as depicted in the movie 300. This was an incredibly trained army who steamrolled every known culture in western Asia for hundreds of years. They were also tolerant of their conquered peoples and allowed many religions in their empire. They were a very interesting people.
